"Thank you for that too." Hartley smiled and he felt himself blushing again, so he did his best to pretend he wasn't and just kept kissing Axel for a while longer. Kept kissing him and pressing himself against him and generally behaving less than proper while also simply forgetting about how he should really be getting back to the party.
He didn't remember that until it was too late. Things happened quickly. One moment there was just his mother saying his name as she opened the door, then there was yelling. Hartley's eyes were wide and he shoved Axel away, just imagining what could happen to him. "Get out. Get out, Walker, please, there will be so much trouble."
Trouble he had to face, but at least they wouldn't be able to lock Axel up when he wasn't there. Hartley tried to calm his mother down, but it seemed fairly futile. His father joined and his anger was enough to scare him. Hartley could only hope that Axel was already gone.
It escalated from there. But Hartley could never have predicted just how much it would escalate.
