"I didn't kiss you! I moved in and our lips touched." Oh even he knew that one sounded lame. He huffed like Hartley was doing him a great displeasure with his logic and crossed his arms, biting his lower lip as the other invaded his privacy. He could feel his heat, he could smell his scent, it was beautiful. He loved the way Hartley looked. His style, his confidence, that cocky little smirk he got when he knew he could win an argument.
Like right now. "Go right on ahead, Hartley. Elaborate. Take me through a tour of my own mind and explain it all to me. You're the genius, after all."
"It's very simple, James." Hartley leaned his head to the side, whispering in James' ear, standing as close as he could without just outright pressing against him. He did take James' hand in his, because he had a point to make. "The way you touch me and the way you look at me, the way you treat me and the way you damn well know you want me... It'd make my boyfriend jealous. That's how homo you are."
With that, Hartley kissed James' cheek and stepped back. Point made, he thought.
James pulled away from Hartley and glared at him, knowing he was right but he didn't need to hear it from some cocky fag who thought he was just so much better than him. "You're such a fucking asshole. All I wanted to do was hang out and you had to get all gay on me. It's so fucking annoying. Whatever. Be a dick. See if I care." With a great dramatic sigh, he flopped down on his sofa and curled into himself, clearly unhappy that he had been one upped and tonight he'd be alone. And he hated being alone.
"Whatever, straight boy. Just tell me your price when you've made up your mind." No, Hartley couldn't find much pity in him today, even though James made such an impressive show of, well, pouting. He almost wanted to stay just to needle him more, but he knew better than that. Best to walk out of here, head held high, as long as he was winning. Hartley didn't look back and the door fell shut behind him with a certain finality. James had fucked this up, now he had to deal with the consequences.
