With an amused smile, he playfully petted Hartley's head like he was a family pet then moved away from him, pulling a strip of gum from his pocket and shoving it into his mouth, the lolly long since gone. He was trying to keep his mouth busy and his mind of cigarettes. Oral fixation, sure, but like Hartley would ever complain.
